Xi'an has a typical subhumid and warm temperate monsoon climate of medium latitudes. Its four seasons are clear: Summer is hot and pluvious while winter is cold but seldom snowy. In spring and fall, the drizzly weather sometimes maybe has a long duration. The mean yearly temperature of Xi'an and its suburban counties is 13.1℃ through 13.4℃. Now, with the change of the global climate, some years its extremely maximum temperature reaches 35 through 41.8℃;The minimum extremely temperature may reach 16 below zero through 20 below zero. July is the hottest month in all around year, its average temperature ranges from 26.1℃to 26.3℃. The maximum average temperature is about 32℃. January is the coldest moth among the twelve, its average monthly temperature reaches 0.3 below zero through 1.3℃ below zero, the minimum average monthly temperature is about 4℃ below zero, the annual amplitude ranges from 26℃to27℃. The interannual variability of rainfall is tremendously different in the years. In rain capacity, the rainy year and the rainless year make a great difference, the maximum difference between them reach 590mm. The distribution of the precipitation in the months is rather inequable, about 78% precipitation concentrates on May through October, July through September of which account for 47% of the total precipitation in a year, sometimes rainstorms occur in these three months. The annual average relative humidity (RH) is about 70%. Every year, the naschi is blown in Xi'an, and it is a prevailing wind direction in this area, the annual mean wind velocity usually reaches 1.8 m/s.
