Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa
Upon your arrival in Lhasa, you will be met by your local guide at Lhasa airport or train station. Be driven to the downtown Lhasa and check in your hotel.
Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650 meters, is situated on the north bank of Kyichu River. Lhasa in Tibetan means "Place of the Gods", the residence of the Dalai Lama is the capital of Tibet.
Day 2: Lhasa
After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from the hotel; visit the Potala Palace.After lunch, you will visit Jokhang Temple and Norbulinka.
Potala Palace,this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. The Potala Palace was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India in 1959. Today the Potala Palace has been converted into a museum.
Jokhang Temple is the first Buddhist temple in Tibet, located on Barkhor Square in Lhasa. It was built during the reign of king Songsten Gampo (605?-650 CE) to celebrate his marriage with Chinese Tang Dynasty princess Wencheng, who was a Buddhist. The temple was called the Tsulag Khang or 'House of Wisdom' but it is now known as the Jokhang which means the 'House of the Buddha'.
Norbulingka meaning Jewel Park, was Dalai Lama's summer palace since the Seventh. Its light-hearted air makes it less demanding than most sights in Lhasa The Norbulinka is well worth a visit at festival times and public holidays. On Shoton Festival, the park is crowded with picnickers, and traditional Tibetan opera performances are also held there.
Day 3: Lhasa-Departure
After breakfast, we will drive you to the airport or train station for your next destination. See off.
