Wolong Panda Volunteer Program 04
(Beijing-Chengdu-Wolong-Chengdu-Chongqing-Yangtze Three Gorges-Shanghai 16 days)

Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
Arrive at Beijing on your own arrangement. Be met & transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Beijing
Full day trip to the Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven . Enjoy the Peking Opera Show in the evening.

Day 3: Beijing
Full day trip to the Great Wall, Ming Tomb and Sacred road. Enjoy a famous Peking Duck Banquet for dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Beijing -Chengdu
Free in the morning, then be escorted to airport or train station for Chengdu. (B,L)

Day 5: Wolong Panda Reserve

• At 9:00 AM, you will be met at the lobby of your hotel. Your English-speaking guide and driver will drive you to Wolong Panda Reserve. (Wolong Panda Reserve is 4 hours driving from Chengdu city)
• After you arrive at the Wolong Panda Reserve, you will visit Giant Panda Museum, Panda Cub House and Panda Bear Enclosure. You can play with the panda cubs and take photos with them.

Day 6 – Day 10:
You will be a volunteer at the Panda Center.
Following a short training,volunteer service might include:

Assistant to the panda keepers:

• Cleaning panda areas and enclosures
  
• Preparing food for the pandas such as carrots, apples, panda bread and their nutritional biscuits
  
• Carrying lots of bamboo
  
• Sometimes you might be able to help collect behavioral data
  
• You will also have time to watch and photograph the pandas.
  

• Introduce the giant panda research, such as breeding and hand-rearing.
• Introduce the giant panda research cooperation with the USA, Japan, Austria, Thailand etc
• Introduce all the giant pandas, their different habit, behavior etc.
• Tell stories of the giant panda for the visiting Chinese and international tourists.

Day 10: Chengdu
After you finished your volunteer job at about 4:00 pm; you will be met by the local guide at the hotel. Be driven to Chengdu, check in the hotel.

Day 11: Chengdu-Chongqing-Yangtze Cruise
After breakfast, you will take a comfortable bus for Chongqing. Be met by the local guide in Chongqing. After visiting General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum and People's Assembly Hall, you will be transferred to the pier to board luxury Yangze River cruise ship. (B, L)

Day 12: Yangtze River
This morning you'll disembark at Shibaozhai , a 12 storey red wooden pagoda which rests against the rock wall, where you can also climb up the spiral staircase to the top for a panoramic view of the winding river, the village and the countryside. In the late afternoon, you have the option of visiting the temples of Baidi City. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Yangtze Three Gorges
You'll enter the world-famous Three Gorges , and enjoy a 4-hour "soft adventure" to the 60 km tributary, Shennong Stream . (B, L,D )

Day 14: Yichang-Shanghai
After the shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam site you'll have a farewell lunch on board ,the local guide will meet you and escort you to the airport for shanghai.(B.L)

Day 15: Shanghai
Visit Jade Buddha Temple,Shanghai Museum.The Bund and Nanjing Road.(B,L)

Day 16: Shanghai-Departure
Free in the morning, take a taxi to the airport for home on your own arrangement.(B)
